Ten Common Mistakes People Make at the Car Dealership

When a buyer is buying a used car or new car, there are several mistakes that a buyer commits while he is dealing with the dealership.

1.       One should know exactly what you want

Before one goes to the dealer, the buyer should have a clear perception of what they want. The type of car they require, the car, the model etc. One should do an extensive homework first before going to the car dealership. Walking inside the store with no idea of their actual wants can lead to a real bad buy.

2.       One should take a test drive
There are many buyers who do not believe in taking the test drive. This is a must step that one should not skip. In a test drive, there are several things that one gets to know about the vehicle.

3.       One should negotiate on the basis of the ex showroom price of the vehicle and not the sticker price.
The buyer should first investigate about the vehicle, its manufacturing price and then see how much the dealer is charging for the vehicle. In this way the buyer will be able to strike a better deal.

4.       Do your own financing
Do not rely on the dealer to fix the financing of your vehicle. Usually a dealer proposes to fix because he will get a percentage from it. The buyer will land up spending more money than the actual amount.

5.       Do not pay in a monthly basis
Often we are attracted towards this monthly basis scheme, thinking that we can pay for the amount over a long time slowly and steadily. The dealer also proposes this idea to the buyer because in this way the buyer pays much more money than the actual amount. Hence it is advisable to pay the amount at one go or maximum in two instalments.

6.       If you feel the deal is not good enough then do walk away.
There are dealers who offer attractive proposals on the vehicles. The deals last for 24 to maximum 72 hours. See the deal and if you feel something is fishy do walk away. These are often loops created by the dealer to sell of a vehicle where maybe there is slight or major damage or some other thing. Usually the dealer will put such offers up only when they want to get rid of the material as soon as possible.

7.       One should not discuss trade in too early.
There are times when a buyer wants to sell old vehicle at a better price than the dealer.

8.       One should go to different dealers
There are many buyers who go to just one dealer and finalise the deal and purchase from there. This often leads to a loss. One should visit at least 3 to 4 dealers and see the ex showroom price and then consider the lowest one and negotiate accordingly.

9.       One should always insure
Insurance of the vehicle is very important.

1.   One should always question the dealer well on the extras.

When you are buying a vehicle and you have decided to sign the dotted lines, the dealer often forces upon the extras and charges a hefty amount. The buyer should say no as these extras or add ons he can easily get from the market at a much cheaper rate.

Costs To Consider While Buying A Car

Buying a used car is not an easy task. Apart from searching a good dealer, evaluating the car well, thinking of the depreciation rate one should also consider the costs too while buying the car. There are certain factors which one should keep in mind like:
·         The cost of insurance
·         Depreciation
·         Taxes and Fees
·         Negotiating a sale price
·         Research the purchase
The Cost of Insurance

An older used car has cheaper insurance rate than a brand new one. The buyer needs to check how much he can spend on the insurance factor.

Depreciation

The depreciation is a very important factor. The new car loses 15 to 20% of its value each and every year. If the car depreciated quite a lot and the buyer is looking for finance for that car then he will be paying more than its actual worth. Because if a car had a certain then over a period of time it lost that value and the buyer will get loan for the actual price but he needs to repay the loan plus the depreciated amount which he did not use.

Taxes and Fees

There are several taxes that the buyer has to encounter like: State and local tax- This depends from which state on belongs to and then the sale price of the car. According to the calculation the state and local tax is added. Department of motor vehicle fees- The registration costs basically depends on the type of vehicle. While buying a used car one just needs to transfer it to their name. A documentation fee- This varies from city to city and one needs to pay this and clear it up.

Negotiating a sale price

This is a very important step. As the dealer always hikes the price amount to a good considerable amount and then asks for the price.  The buyer should research well have a good idea about the price and then go and bargain with the dealer

Research the purchase

Perhaps this is the most important stage while buying a car. The buyer must do a detailed study of the car he wants to own. Right from its value, to the depreciation rate the buyer must know all tiny details of the car he wants to purchase. He should also know its financing options and check how much extra he has to pay. He should do a good detailed study whether to buy the used car or to settle for a new car with lesser options of that range. After deciding then comes the price factor and other factors.

Get True Value For Old Car

Any commodity has a value and cars are no exception. There are high end brands for cars which anybody would like to own but there are also good quality cars which have been produced for the larger masses who cannot afford a high end branded car but desire to drive a good quality car. When one is thinking of selling their car they should get an online car valuation so that they know exactly what the present price of the car is after the car’s particular amount of depletion. The old car valuation can be found out from different websites in the internet like the indianbluebook.com.  You need to fill up a few basic queries like model number, brand and manufacturing year and you can get free evaluation. By doing this you will get the exact pricing of your old car and then you know your car’s exact price. After this you can further proceed with clicking of photos of the car in different angles and post it in the internet with all information required. You need to set a price that is close to the valued price and look for buyers and sell it after bargaining and transfer the papers after he has given the money.

Thus the very first step is car valuation and it is important for the following reasons:

Ø  It provides all the details for the customer who is opting to buy a used car.
Ø  The customer gets all the details form the car valuation chart
Ø  After getting all the details the customer has an idea of what id the actual price and the seller is asking for and whether he should invest or not
Ø  If the customer is satisfied then he will proceed with the deal
Ø  If the price is too hiked then the customer will not buy and look out for other dealers and in this way the dealer loses a customer.

As days are passing technology is being more updated and the automobile factory is definitely being upgraded too with the latest technology. The car that one has bought three years back that same brand has bought in much more updated edition both technology and style wise and has given a different name. People will obviously be attracted to buy the latest one and resale their old one. There are many people who cannot afford it but still decide to buy the latest ones. They should realise and keep a check on their finance because with time again the updated version till become old and another version will come up but one needs to think several times before indulging in such impulse buying and this when car valuation plays an important role. Car valuation is thus the first step that a buyer and the seller should do. First is to know the present price of the car and get all the details. The seller should not hike the price too much and neither the buyer should bargain and offer a lower sum of money than the valuation. The buyer should also before buying get a second hand car valuation online before investing. Thus it can be seen that determining the old car valuation is a must from both the sides.

The valuation of the car is one very important step which needs to be done before you sell your car. Getting your car valuated by experts fetches you the optimum value for your vehicle so that you don’t end up underselling. The valuation of the car is carried out on a number of factors.

Clear and upto date paper works also ensure a high value if you want to sell your car. The insurance, the banking updates for any sort of loans, the pollution control checks, the chassis number registration and the ownership details, the maintenance details are very important for fetching higher value while you sell your car.

Age of the car is a very important aspect which decides the value for used cars. With increasing age the selling value also undergo depreciation. Every other day the automobile companies are coming up with new models. So the older the car becomes, the more outdated it becomes. Moreover, many a time older models face a problem with the spare parts availability as companies stop their production. The age of the car also influences its drive quality as well. The speed lag, the suspension, the underneath and the cornering are the drive-abilities. The noise of the engine also an important as it generally tells us a lot about the health of the engine. Various car functions like the AC functions, the central-locking system, the power windows, Lights, indicators, steering, door-locks, and the braking abilities – all of these highly influence the value for which you sell your car. Like the interiors, the exterior can also be checked for painting, dents and rusts etc. A car with a good first impression will always garner a higher resale value.

The distance travelled by the car is another important parameter which is judged for used car valuation. The used car prices decrease with the increase in the number of kilometers travelled. A well maintained car with clean interiors having a good neat and clean seat cover, clean floor mats, a covered steering wheel, a well maintained AC and glitch free windows is surely going to make a great impression. New generation Santro to be replacement for i10

The first edition of the Hyundai Santro was very famous in India. It was a hot cake for its slightly odd proportions, till it was discontinued in 2014. The i10 filled in the gap. But now, the company is planning to launch an upgraded version of the model- the new generation Santro which is likely to replace the i10. The next generation Santro is most likely to make it to the markets in 2017. Once launched this new version of the Santro will give a stiff competition to likes of Chevrolet Beat, Maruti Wagon R and the top models of Renault Kwid.

The Hyundai Santro which operated in India had an engine of 1.0L which was later upgraded to 1.1L and this same upgraded version powers the i10. This upgraded version of the new generation Santro is expected to have a more efficient engine in terms of power generation as well as fuel efficiency. It is expected to have a petrol variant only with the transmission being taken care of by a 5-speed manual gearbox. The CNG variant and the AMT versions are also expected.

As per reports the tall boy design of the original version of Santro is going to be dropped and a crossover look is going to be rendered to make it more stylish. As this car is likely to replace hyundai grand i10 it is expected to have exteriors and interiors which are almost similar. The front bumper and the fog lights render a sporty look to the car. The headlamps are long and slating which further adds up to the style quotient of the exterior front.  The rear view mirrors have turn indicators fitted in them and they can also be heated electronically to remove the mist. The tail lamp and the bumper at the rear give elegance to the car.

As the new generation Santro is being designed to suit the younger population, it is expected to have great interiors.  The dashboard, the infotainment system, the upholstery, the seats and the overall tone of the cabin are expected to be of classy standards. Presently the i10 has a dual tone light brown and beige interior. The dashboard has the audio system in it and the audio and the Bluetooth controls are placed on the steering wheel for the comfort of the driver.

As far as the security features are concerned, the new Santro is expected to have ABS which prevents wheels from getting locked during emergencies. Apart from this the model is also expected to have dual airbags at the front which is presently there in i10. Seatbelts with pretensioners, reverse parking sensors and camera, multi reflector fog lamps and warning lamps in the instrument cluster are all expected to be there in the new version of Santro. Best used cars in Mumbai

Mumbai being a metropolitan city is always crowded. The crowd and the entire population of Mumbai depend upon the public transportation for its daily travel purposes. It is often seen that the public transports get so packed up that even people lose their lives in the rush. Travelling by convenient transportation can also be an issue sometimes as the cost of travelling is very high. To curb all these circumstances there is a huge demand for second hand cars in the city of Mumbai.  You can never get enough of the vehicles that are in demand in the city.

Always buying a new car is not an appropriate option for each and everybody. People tend to have low income and to manage the cost they often go for second hand or used cars. The only reason why used cars are in demand is that the cost of buying a used car is much less than that of a new one.  Not only is the cost but there many other factors that add up to the cost when you decide to buy a new car. The insurance policies, the different tax issues are the extra added expenses that you need to pay when you are buying a new car.

But the moment you switch to a used car issue all you expenses are dropped by more than 80 percent of the original dime. And in a city with crowded functions often carrying out a new car is difficult. You have to take good care of the car and keep it well maintained all the time. This is a very difficult situation when you have to travel each and every day. So when you are buying a used car this particular stress of yours is mutilated by the fact that there are already few scratches on the car and you have nothing to worry about if you get a few more.

There are a variety of car models which have attained the height of popularity in the city of Mumbai. Small families opt for the Maruti Alto which can be seen in plenty in and around the city. Then you have the Maruti Suzuki Swift which is another very popular car of Mumbai and is very much seen driven by the youth basically. Other cars like the Skoda Fabia, Chevrolet Beat, Honda Civic are also among the popular models in Mumbai.

You can also get your hands on certified used cars if you are willing to pay a little more than the required. Certified used cars can assure you of the warranty of the car and other mechanisms. Your car is in a first class working condition if you have a certified one. Many dealerships participate in this certification to make sure you get the value of your money and do not end up investing in a dead machine. So if you are looking for used cars in Mumbai then all these above options are very convenient for you.

How to decide the right sale price for your used car

Finalizing the decision to sell a used car is influenced by a number of factors. The most important confusion which creeps up in mind is to decide the right price of the car. There is a risk associated while deciding the price. If you overprice the car it is very difficult to find a prospective buyer for the car. On the other hand there is the fear of monetary loss if you undersell your vehicle. The best way to decide the right price is to evaluate the used car on a number of parameters.

The price of the car when it was newly purchased is a very important factor which influences the price for used cars. The usage, the distance travelled by the car or in other word the number of kilometres the car has travelled and the condition of the car. With increasing age the increase in the usage and the distance travelled is quite natural. And so the price decreases.

Another very important factor which determines the price is the fuel efficiency it provides. The quality of the fuel used, the maintenance of the engine oils which affect the brakes, the clutch, and the overall drive-abilities are very important. used cars having higher fuel efficiency are going to have a higher value.

Age of the car is a very important aspect which decides the resale value. With increasing age the resale value of the car undergoes depreciation. Day after day the automobile companies are coming up with new models. So the older the car becomes, the more outdated becomes the model. The age of the car also influences its drive-abilities.
